Garage Smart Sensor Example
- Open the door Its contact sensor switches compatible lights on.
- Close the door A discreet motion sensor keeps the lights on while movement is detected and you continue to use the garage.
- After you leave After a set period with no motion detected, typically around two minutes, the lights switch off.
What you need: smart lightbulb(s), a contact sensor and a motion detector.
App, voice and normal controls remain available where configured. We test the sensors, coverage and delay together; standing still may require a longer timer or manual override.
Simulate home occupancy
Selected lights and compatible blinds can follow an agreed away routine, giving the home a believable lived-in appearance. Keep the pattern simple and retain a familiar way to override it.
This is a useful routine, not a guarantee against intrusion.
What we check together
We check load ratings and compatibility. Smart plugs are not universal controls for heaters, cooling, medical or safety equipment; some connected features need internet.

Can I still use heating without the internet or app?
Suitable local controls remain available on the installed system. App access, remote commands and some schedules or integrations may depend on the network. We demonstrate the agreed fallback controls at handover.

Better schedules may avoid needless heating, but savings depend on the building and how it is used. We lead with comfort and control and do not promise a percentage saving.
Can physical controls and manual override remain?
That is a design priority. We specify an obvious everyday control and show how to use it if a phone is unavailable. The exact fallback is confirmed for the chosen hardware.
